Port Pipavav was designed for convenience - a Container Freight Station (CFS) is located within the port limits operated by our group entity APM Terminals IS, for consolidating cargo moving to or from the immediate hinterland. The port has dedicated 11,000 sq. mts. of covered, custom bonded warehouse space, and an area of paved stackyards to handle the CFS operations. In addition to the on-site CFS facilities, there are three other fully functional CFS facilities within the vicinity of the Port, Logix Park, Contrans Logistics and CWC.

Unlike many other ports where the CFS is located several kilometers from the quay, the CFS at Port Pipavav is in very close proximity – approximately 200 metres – to the container berths. As a result, containers can typically be moved from the CFS to the vessel in just ten minutes, a clear time and cost savings advantage for both cargo owners and shipping lines.

The CFS at Port Pipavav currently handles a wide range of cargo generated from the Saurashtra belt and other parts of northwest India. These include cotton, wood pulp, sesame seeds, cattle feeds, agricultural products, ceramic tiles and soda ash, among others.

Port Pipavav’s CFS is certified according to European Union standards, and also affiliated with and approved by several trade associations.

Port Pipavav has also developed a users’ complex on the premises to accommodate the offices of customs and other agents, banks, stevedores, shipping lines and other service providers. This convenient facility makes it easy for companies to operate efficiently at the port. The complex is poised for growth, with a standalone customs house currently under construction.
