Port Pipavav leverages a diverse team of professionals to ensure safe and efficient maritime operations. Senior pilots have more than ten years of experience at the port, and not a single marine accident has occurred at the Port Pipavav since its inception.
Current maritime personnel consists of:
- Harbour Master
- Pilots
- Control Room Operators
- Mooring Crew
- Motor Launch Crew
Port Pipavav deploys four vessels to assist with port operations:
- One Launch - ML Ambaji
- Three tugboats:
- - Rishabh (Bollard Pull 35)
- - Malini (Bollard Pull 50)
- - Ocean Supreme (Bollard Pull 60)
Port Pipavav’s control room is a central location designed to monitor and relay information regarding port operations, vessel movements and marine safety and security. The facility is manned 24/7, and is equipped with the following:
- Radar
- VHF
- NAVTEX
- Automatic Weather Station
- AIS (Automatic Information System)
