• The candidate should have appropriate qualification & experience in similar shipping operations and shall have a background Port / Terminals. Preference shall be given to Graduates.
• Requires good interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Must be PC savvy with above average skills in standard Windows applications and mail clients such as Outlook.
  

Job Profile :
The position shall be responsible for the following :

• Supervising the bulk team in a shift comprising of tally clerks, crane operators and labours in the operations activities for the Bulk Cargo, including stevedoring, yard and warehouse activities.

• Ensure the jetty is cleaned/washed and approved by the surveyors prior berthing of the vessel for agri-cargo, soda ash and other clean cargo.

• Ensure that tally of the cargo is being taken, discharge/feed rate is maintained, hooks are not idling, and sufficient labourers/ vehicles/ loaders are in place.

• Transfer of cargo from vessel to warehouse and vice versa. Provides focal point for shipping agents, shippers and consignees for cargo handling activities

• Ensure spill plates and tarps are in place before commencing the loose cargo. Ensure minimal/zero spillage during transit, all trucks carrying dirty/dusty cargo are covered to arrest the spillage and pollution.

• Ensure the warehouse / open yard is utilised to its maximum occupancy. Maintain necessary records and conduct periodical sampling to ascertain loss of cargo due to weather.

• Any other operational or administrative activities as assigned by the reporting officer.
