Manager – Container
  • The candidate for this position is a highly analytical change agent, preferably from the Ports / Terminal business but could possibly come from a logistics back ground also. Preference shall be given to Graduates. Candidates at senior level in shipping / shipping agencies who match the profile can also be considered.
  • Excellent Interpersonal & problem solving skill and fluency in English.
  • Must have excellent skills in standard Windows applications and mail clients such as Outlook or Outlook Express, Power point presentation.

Job Profile :
The position shall be responsible for all container operations in the port including :-

  • Manage, motivate and instruct all operational team members. Structure tasks and goals, establish efficient courses of action, set priorities, organize information and efficiently execute daily tasks with considerations to high productivity and efficient utilization of equipment and labour.

  • Provide terminal presence by maintaining significant visibility in each part of the daily operation, whilst serving as primary informational contact for all members of the organisation.

  • Achieve the highest possible berth production which must at a minimum meet the targets as established in the terminal/shipping line contracts.

  • Achieve average gross moves per quay crane as per terminal KPI to meet the berth production targets as established in the terminal/shipping line contracts.

  • Achieve average truck turn-round time as per terminal KPI.
