The port has undertaken the development of a modern container terminal at Pipavav, which offers the following infrastructure
- 550m of quay length dedicated for container operations
- Capability to accept vessels with 12.5m draft
- 6 Quay Gantry Cranes
- 18 RTGs
- 8 Reachstackers
- 104,000 sq.m of container yard
- Rail yard with 2 dedicated rail lines
- CFS Facilities

The container terminal at present has a capacity of 500,000 TEUs.
Once development of the container terminal is complete
it will offer.
- A total of 735m of quay length dedicated for container operations
- Draft of 14.5m
- Roads, Port Buildings, New Gate Complex etc.
- Plus 2 new Quay Gantry Cranes and 6 new RTGs
